Loads of action at Mallory Park, a great weekend out.

We went to The Halloween Showdown and fitted the axle, all was well.

Managed 3 runs and a flaming burnout, watched the firework display, got roasted by the bonfire, drunk a lot and had a great weekend.

The parts for our rear axle have arrived safely from Jegs and are now in the Hands of Johnny Mental who will fit the bits together then on 29th October we will be racing at Stratford on Avon for the Halloween Showdown.

We had a great weekend at The Hot Rod Drags with 14 Supercharged Outlaws teams roll through the gates.
The weather was against us and the track and everytime the rain stopped, the fantastic crews of Shakespeare County Raceway worked so hard to dry up and every time they got ready to race the rain came down again.
I think the Gods were telling them to have a day off and go to the bar! Thanks Guys and Gals.
Many thanks to the NSRA for hosting the event and allowing us to be part of this ever improving event.
On Saturday evening 6  Flame Burnouts were due to take place followed by a Cacklefest so I went to the tower and discussed the situation. It was decided (not by me) to only allow 2 Flame Burnouts due to the conditions and chose Tom Coe and Lee Gallimore as they both are becoming seasoned (and well done) Flamers. The track crew again worked tirelessly to prepare the track for the safety of the drivers and cars, then at 7pm the pipes were lit and the fires flaming with 2 fantastic lightly grilled drivers. The Cackelfest followed immediately and was a great success with the grandstands full of appreciative crowds eager for some noise. Fireworks ended the day apart from the drinks, barbecues and laughs with friends.
Sunday was better and most of the cars had 1 run, some of them truly outstanding with great smokey burnouts and sideways runs. Congrats to Joe Bond running another 6 at 200+.
We damaged the back axle so we stripped it down and found the bearings mashed and a tooth missing off the crown wheel and that stopped us racing as we sit over the axle and if it explodes we would be talking in a high pitch! We have ordered the parts and will be travelling back to Shakespeare County Raceway for the Halloween Showdown on 29/30 October where we are sure to be doing another Flaming Burnout.
Tom is somewhere in the picture below, use it as a screen saver to keep you warm this winter.

Fantastic picture from Sonia Hammond, her 1st time at Shakespeare County Raceway and I bet it won't be the last. Click  HERE to see her Facebook pictures.  Click   HERE  for more great pictures of The Hot Rod Drags 2011.

Well another weekends racing over! The Bulldog Bash at Shakespeare County Raceway was just the best ever. 5 Supercharged Outlaws attended including us and what a great time we had. Side by side burnouts and just a tenth of a second at the finish line too, fantastic.
Evenings entertainment was provided by Bad Manners and my old friends Status Quo so we were Rockin All Over the World.
It was my turn to do a Flame Burnout again and WOW, did I smile or what!

Cool eh!
Next stop is The Hot Rod drags at Shakespeare County Raceway on 16th/18th September, who knows what fun we'll have there so come along and join the party.

Apologies for not updating lately but 3 sites on the go and flat out at work but this was worth the wait.
Had a ball at Dragstalgia (well, fireball) and on Saturday we sat through the rain until 3pm then as it was son Toms Birthday weekend, I let him drive for the whole weekend.
He got a run in at about 5pm and ran an 8.2 which considering the conditions wasn't too bad. Then at about 9pm we went back on track to do a 'Flaming Burnout'

Wow, that was brilliant, made mine from last year look puny but at least, I set the ball rolling again after 30 years and i have a couple planned this year.
Sunday we managed 1 run of 8.02 then the heavens opened again and pee'ed on our parade. Still we/Tom got a 1st place trophy.
Don't forget that we are at Shakespeare County Raceway next weekend July 23rd & 24th.

17th June;
We did show the car at our SPONSORS new premises on 18th June and had a great day out.

31st May;

What a great weekend we had at
http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/events.asp
racing with
http://www.supercharged-outlaws.co.uk/page30.php
There were 14 personal best runs including my 181mph and son Tom's 7.52 e.t.
Tom did 2
7 second passes on Saturday and another 2 on Sunday  then I did 1 run at close of day as it was forecast rain for Monday and it sure did, 5 runs all in the 7s and 3 over the 180mph on a de-tuned engine, fantastic.
It was great to see our good friends and relatives come visit and thanks to them for making the trip.
A couple of small disasters on the way home, had a nasty smell coming from the back of the ambulance and found the 2 leisure batteries smoking like hell itself so disconnected them. Second problem arose when climbing a steep hill near home when the gearbox kept jumping between 1st and 2nd gear so we called our wonderful sponsors
www.kentcarcraft.co.uk/  who promptly came out and towed the trailer home while I poodled back in the ambulance, THANKS Doug.
Doug thinks it's a small problem and is having it in his workshop on Wednesday. Kent Car Craft are having an 'Open Day' on June 18th and we will be there with the race car so pop along and join us if you are in the vicinity.

Not really!

Tom ready for another 7 second pass.

What a great weekend we had at Mallory Park on the 21st May, burnouts and 1/8th mile launches on the straight then round Gerards Bend, wow!

May 18th.
We are attending the PPC Show at Mallory Park this weekend along with 3 other Supercharged Outlaws to do a couple of burnouts on the start line, a couple of fire-ups and generally wake people up. If you are in the vicinity of Leicester then come and have a great day out.

On May 28/30th we will be at Shakespeare County Raceway for Garys Picnic/Yanks weekend for even more fun. Got to be worth a trip to the friendliest place on earth.

12th May.
We had a good weekend at Shakespeare County Raceway on the 30th April & 1st May. the weather was warm and sunny but really windy which caused a few problems when popping the 'chute. I drove on Saturday and decided on a 2nd gear pass to run the engine in, did a 8.4 second run which wasn't as bad as it sounds considereing the strong head & crosswind. Went back out later and ran a 7.9 @ 171mph, better.
Tom drove on the Sunday and ran an 8.1 which was great considering he had to back off twice due to the crosswind trying to blow him off the track.  Getting ready for his next run and we couldn't start the engine, found out we had put the tranmission blanket on too near the flywheel and it chewed itself up also snapping the wire to the starter, damn!   A few new pics, click   HERE

Packed away Sunday afternoon and headed for Lydden Race Circuit for exhibition. Monday morning Kev (crew chief) arrived after being ill all week and he fixed the problem so we were able to do some fire-ups to wake everyone.  Unfortunately we disturbed the neighbours?? so much that they complaind about the noise (2pm) so we were asked not to start the car again.  Drift cars, rally cars, a stunt plane amongst others and we were the ones making a noise.  LOVE IT.

Next trip out is to Mallory Park on May 21st for demonstration burn-outs and fire-ups, should have a lot of fun there.  Click on the link;

23rd April.
We need a crew member for the team as we are getting old and knackered.
Must have some experience and be reliable, no pay but free entry. We need help to move the car around, minor regular maintenance and help on the start line. Get yourself on the track and enjoy the fun whilst doing a little bit of work. Send a message  (click here)   or see us at the track.

19th April.
We did a bit more to the car and the ambulance tow vehicle, a bit of bodywork restoration (cut out the rust) thanks to Tom and a lick of paint thanks to me (crap job) and I'm taking it for it's MOT tomorrow. IT PASSED. We did renew a brake pipe and scraped and painted the chassis so should pass. Will post some pics of the finished ambulance after the race meeting.
Our first meeting is booked and we are travelling to Shakespeare County Raceway on the 29th April missing the Royal Wedding, shame!  (whoopee) so if any of you can make it that weekend then stop by and say Hi.

Our GREAT sponsor, Kent Car Craft are sponsoring us for the fourth year running and we are so very gratefull for this, they have become such good friends in the process.

10th April.
We did a bit more to the car this weekend and we fitted the blower then thought, 'will it start' so I nipped out and got some fresh petrol then tried it.
YES it fired up 1st time just squeezing a bit of petrol into the bug catcher. Sounded fantastic and made us want more but a horse was nearby so we shut off after a few seconds.
Ready to rock n roll.
Big thanks to Mark Windridge for another excellent rebuild.

14th March 2011.
The engine is BACK in the car and we have just got a few minor things to do and we are then ready for racing.
Ambulance to be MoTd and maybe some paint.
Stay tuned! we will be ready for the first race meeting. Check the race dates page and come and visit.

News 27th January 2011.
We have added a new date to the calender for the Bucket & Spade run in Ramsgate on Sunday 5th June where we will be doing a static display so if you are near then call by.

We are still waiting for a good dry weekend to put everything back together on the car but we have installed a nice electric winch in the trailer to save our old and tired muscles.  We also had a leaking brake pipe on the ambulance so I will be doing that later this week weather permitting.

NEWS; 8th January 2011.

The engine is now with us and we are slowly putting the race car back together and are looking forward to burning some rubber.
A new date has been added in August for the V-Dub Island, click  HERE  for details.

Our engine is almost ready and we are hoping to collect in 2 weeks.
We have heard that we may be allowed to do another Flaming Burnout at the
Dragstalgia meeting at Santa Pod, fingers crossed for that one.

We are again racing with the great Supercharged Outlaws in 2011 and are hoping to beat our best of 7.57 @ 184 mph. We need to as we are in with some very strong cars so maybe I need to lose a bit of flab and Tom needs bigger boots.
